  • The next step is to pry the lip of the siding loose and pull down the tool.
  • On the exterior of the wall, pull out the nails which are holding the damaged piece.
  • Remove the damaged piece and place it on a flat surface.
  • With a piece of a PVC cleaner, coat the back of the crack.
  • For gluing the piece of back sliding to the back of the crack, use PVC cement.
  • The next step is to fix the siding back and then nail the top. The nail head and the siding strip should be at least 1/8 inch away from each other.

  • The next step is to form a steel hook which can be done by bending the metal hook backwards. When this hook is inserted under individual vinyl siding panels, it hooks to the lower edge of the panel which will help you to pull the panel away from the wall.
  • Beneath the lower side of the vinyl siding panel at one corner, slide the tool and then hook it onto the notch of the panel.
  • Pull the tool downward which will help in unlocking the vinyl siding panel. Now, along the complete length of the siding panel, continue hooking the notch.
  • The next step is to allow the panel to hang in a free manner. With the help of a hammer, remove all the nails. If you find it difficult to remove with a hammer, then you can use a pry par.
  • While doing this, take care that the foam present under the vinyl siding panel is not crushed.
  • Now, unlock the vinyl siding panel from the starter strip which is present at the bottom of the house by pushing the vinyl siding downwards.
  • The next step is to find a suitable vinyl siding which will suit your house and needs. You will find an appropriate one at any building supply store.
  • With tin snips, cut the panels. As you replace the vinyl siding, stagger them.
  • Slide the replacement panel and start hooking the starter strip at the bottom.
  • Now, secure the vinyl siding panel with nails and allow the nail head to protrude 1/32 inch.
