Repairing Minor Scratches
This is one of the most common problems of laminate flooring. Scratches on the surface of laminate flooring occurs due to sand and dust particles. Heels of pointed footwear can also scratch the laminate floor. An easy and simple remedy for the minor scratches can be with the help of wax crayons. These crayons are made particularly for this purpose and are available in various shades and are sold in flooring and hardware stores. All you have to do is to choose the right color that can blend well with the color of your floor. Before applying wax crayon, clean the dust from the scratched area to get a smooth surface. Then, put color on the scratches and you can see that the abrasion disappears. Clean the crayons that spread outside the scratchings with a clean dry cloth. You can also buy floor repair kit that contain a solution which can mend such scratches.

Repairing Deep Scratches
This problem can develop as a result of repeated pulling of heavy objects across the laminate floor. Use of wheeled objects on the floor can also create such deep scratches. You can take the help of putty to repair such damages. Clear out the dust from the scratched area and fill in the damaged portion with generous amount of putty. Smooth up the area by a putty knife. Wipe out any extra dough of putty with a clean, moist piece of cloth and then rub off the water with a soft dry cloth. Keep the area untouched for at least one hour.

Repairing the Peaks of Laminate Flooring
Peaks are developed on the laminate flooring due to the expansion of its floor panels. It occurs due to changes in weather condition. Usually, it happens on prolonged use of the laminate flooring. The only solution to this problem is to reduce the tension of the panels so that they get enough space to expand without raising the level of the floor. You can repair the peaks by removing the spacers that are present in between the wall of your room and the laminate floor. If there is no spacer, then take out a panel that is closest to the wall, cut around half an inch from the width side of the panel and place it back into its position.

Special care needs to be taken, in order to clear laminate flooring from spots caused by spilling of liquids like paints, molten candle wax etc. Wrong cleaning techniques can cause bruise marks on the floor. The best option is to wipe out the liquid immediately. Otherwise, you have to clean them using warm water. Nail polish removers work well to get rid of paints. Gums and wax should be scraped off carefully.
