How to Remove Braids
Learning to braid hair can be fun and creative, but learning how to safely remove braids is very important. Taking Down braids can be a fun process as well-if done properly.
1. Straight Braids: Either one or two plaits, simply done, that are suitable for everyday wear or can be coiled and twisted into more elaborate looks.
2. French Braids: A type of plait that is woven into hair closer to the scalp, also known as (Cornrow Braids)and the weaving begins higher on the head than a straight braid. French braids are great for everyday or formal wear or for Sew-in Weaving hair extensions.
3. Micro braids: tiny braids that may be woven from just a few strands of hair. These braids are typically done all over the head and can be left in for a long period of time.
4. Up do Braids: A braided style where different braids (straight plaits or micro braids) are then worked into a traditional up do, but the woven hair adds deeper intricacy to the style. Sloppy Braids: Quick to do, sloppy braids are fun and easy for an informal yet intricate look.
Braid Removal Takes Patience
Whether you have had your braids for 2 days or 2 months, you must first put a braid removal cream on your hair to soften it and moisturize your natural hair. Especially if you have hair extensions added to give your braids color, length or thickness.
Sometimes braided hair can become a bit dry or matted/tangled from build-up of oils, sprays or shampoos. And if you do not use a braid remover cream you could damage or make your hair thin.
If you have braided extensions, first you must us cut the tip of the hair extension and unravel the braids; and for sew-in weaves, cut the hair extension weft off the braid.
Once you begin to unravel the braids you will see how soft your hair is because you used a braid removal cream first. Next, it is Very Important that you comb through your natural hair completely before shampooing.
If you make the mistake and shampoo your hair before combing through your hair,it will become Matted. Water makes tangled hair worse.
No matter which braids style you are interested in, be sure to consider the basic factors of braid removal. Hair braids can cause thinning hair, but if removed properly you will retain all the thickness and healthiness of your natural hair.
