How to Relax Your Mind and Body

Breathing
We go on breathing 24 x 7, and by controlling your breath, you can control your anger and, thus, your stress. Just be in a comfortable position, either sitting on a chair or lying down. Then, slowly start breathing in, feel the gap, and then slowly breath out, again feel the gap between breaths, and start breathing in again. Continue doing this breathing exercise, in this manner, for 5 minutes with full attention on your breath, and you will feel relaxed.

Listen to Soothing Music
Another easy way on how to relax yourself, is just to forget about all your worries, and plug-in some soothing mediation music. By listening to just one music meditation track totally, you will find yourself getting more peaceful. If you don't have meditation music, then just listen to some soft classical music.

Relaxing through Body
This stress relief technique helps greatly, when done completely. Lie down in a comfortable position. Then, start feeling stress in your body, then start from your feet and feel the stress there and then make that body area as tense as possible, then let go of the tension and your feet will feel relaxed. Then, move from feet to calves, knees, thighs, hips, lower back, upper back, hands, shoulder and finally your face. Make sure you tense your face for longer and then relax. Immediately after you do this, you will feel the body and mind relaxed.

Get Some Sleep
If you are tense and getting too many thoughts, and physically tired as well. Then just go to sleep, and let the body carry out the natural process of relaxing. A good nap for 1-2 hours should do good. You can do the above technique of 'relaxing through body' first, before going to sleep, to deepen your sleep.

Get an Aromatherapy Massage
You can also consider going for a nice aromatherapy spa. The massage will help to let go of tension accumulated in the body, and the aroma will help your mind relax further.

Sit Silently and Do Nothing
Just sit in a comfortable position, if you can sit in a legs folded position then even better. Once you have found a comfortable position, close your eyes and do nothing. There will be a hundred thoughts running in your mind, but remain unattached by just watching the thoughts.
