A lot of people end up accidentally deleting some files which they need. It has happened with so many people so many times. You find a folder where you don't need anything except a couple of files and you delete it. And after deleting it you realize that there were a couple of files in there that you needed! Luckily the recycle bin gives us the option to recover deleted files.
The Recycle Bin
The recycle bin is quite a convenient arrangement. It gives the user a second thought on whether he really doesn't need what he is deleting. It avoids the circumstance where the user ends up accidentally erasing some files which he needed. The recycle bin is a safety net, where all the seemingly unnecessary files which have been deleted can be stored and then permanently removed once you are sure that they are not required. Hence, the recycle bin is indeed a boon for computer users.
But now suppose you have deleted something, and you know it has gone to the recycle bin, how to recover deleted files from the recycle bin?
Recovering a Deleted File
Recovering deleted files from recycle bin is a fairly simple procedure.
Step #1: Open the Recycle Bin
Go to the 'Recycle Bin' icon on the desktop. Left click the icon to open the recycle bin.
Step #2: Find the File
You know the file which you have deleted but want to recover. Take the computer mouse over the file and right click once. You will see some options.
Step #3: Replace the File
Among the options there is one which says 'restore'. This option will restore the file to its original destination drive and folder on the hard disk.
Step #4: Finding it Again
Once the file is restored it will find its way back to the drive and the folder they were in before being deleted. Go to the drive and open the folder and you will find the file which you had previously deleted. And thus, you have successfully recovered the deleted file.
I hope that you have learned now how to recover deleted files. A lot of people delete files and then later repent deleting them. Hence, recovering deleted files is an important lesson to know. On the other hand, if you do not want the files you delete to be in the recycle bin but want them deleted off your drive altogether, move your mouse over the recycle bin icon, right click it once and click on 'properties'. You will find an option which says 'Do not move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted.' Click on it and then click on 'Apply'. This way, once you delete any file, it will be off your system permanently. Although, personally, I prefer things the way they are!
