How to Really Lose Weight (And It's Not a Diet)

Are you are desperate to lose fat, really lose weight and stay trim and healthy for the rest of your life? Then go ahead, read on, this article is for you.
If you just want to lose a few kilos for your daughter's wedding or the school reunion then you really shouldn't bother reading this. But if you are desperate to lose fat, really lose weight and stay trim and healthy for the rest of your life, then go ahead, read on.

A diet, as most people perceive it, is a temporary period of deprivation until the bathroom scale tips in your favor. The idea is to starve your body so it feeds off your fat. When you hit goal weight or when your willpower gives out, you go back to the poor eating habits and lack of exercise that got you overweight in the first place.

Of course, you are going to fail on a crash or fad diet. Mostly people end up fatter than when they started, with greater frustration and better excuses to feel sad and sorry and in need of another calming fatty, salty and/or sugary treat (or three).

You have to break this cycle if you want to lose fat and get fit and feel good about yourself. There is no fad diet, no magic pill, no success without effort.

Some people, a very small number of people, can break out of poor eating and exercise habits all on their own accord.

The vast majority of us need help and support.

But where to look? If your nearest and dearest are off-hand or negative about your fat loss aims, you have to look further afield. Perhaps someone with similar aspirations who can be your fat loss buddy.

Although lots of people shy away from gyms, they are a great place to meet others who are either on their own fat loss journey or are working hard to maintain the body they have carved through determination and persistence.

Once you understand that to really lose weight is a lifestyle choice rather than a quick fix bandaid, then you can concentrate on getting as informed as possible about what eating plans and exercise programs are best for your body type.

There is no one foolproof solution for losing fat and keeping fit; there are many excellent methods for you to achieve and sustain your somatotype (body shape) goals.

The most important thing is to become as informed as you possibly can and use this information to your advantage. Then you will not be wobbling about in the dark, but making steady progress to your weight loss goals. Knowledge will give you the power to really lose weight.
