How to Pull an All-nighter
Want to know the tips for successfully pulling an all-nighter? Read on for some of the most effective tips for staying awake.

Say No to Caffeine...Drink Water
Drink water regularly throughout the night. Unlike caffeine, which makes you feel energetic for a while before causing the blood sugar levels to drop leading to fatigue, water will keep you up longer and hydrated. Moreover, the frequent trips to the bathroom will keep you further awake!
Sleep during the Day
Sleep during the daytime. Take a nap in the afternoon so that you have enough energy to stay up late in the night.
Exercise
Yep! This one really helps. After every one hour, jog or jump at one place for two to three minutes. Climb the stairs up and down whenever you feel sleepy or simply walk around your room. Such physical activities will help you keep up throughout the night!
Take a Light Dinner
For pulling an all-nighter, it is necessary that you do not take a heavy dinner. If you overeat or take lots of carbohydrates in your dinner, they will make you sleepy later during the night. So preferably stick to salads and soups for dinner.
Have Company
The easiest way to stay awake is to have someone's company. For instance, you can call a friend to stay up with you while studying or you can have your brother or sister give you company for a while!
Go Outside
If in the middle of the night you are feeling really sleepy, then one of the best ways to pull an all-nighter is to go outside and have some fresh air. A few minutes in the cold, chilling air of the night is one of the good ways to stay awake.
Take Energy Drinks
Although, energy drinks are not recommended on an everyday basis, yet they won't do any harm if taken once in a blue moon. Most energy drinks get the heart racing and the blood pumping really hard, making a person feel a lot more energetic. So take a couple of them in the night to stay awake.
Sit on a Chair
If you want to stay awake all night for studying, an easy way is to sit on a chair, instead of a bed or couch, both of which can relax you and thus, make you feel sleepy.
Splash Water on Face
Whenever you feel tired and sleepy during the night, splash ice-cold water on your face. The chilling water will keep you awake longer!
Change Positions
If you sit at the same place throughout the night, you will tend to feel sleepy. So change places after every one or two hours. It will certainly help.
Entertain Yourself
Studying or working continuously and that too all alone during the night can make you feel bored after a while. So take a break of ten-fifteen minutes in between. Chat online or listen to music or dance - basically do anything which you find entertaining during this break!
Stay Focused
For those thinking, how to keep yourself awake, the answer lies in staying focused. Steering clear of all distracting thoughts and focusing on the job and the resultant good outcome, will help in keeping sleep at bay.
One word of cation though - sleeping for seven to eight hours is very essential to maintain good health. So become a little more organized, do not leave tasks for the last minute and certainly do not make staying awake at night a habit!
