How to Poach an Egg

In Boiling Water
To poach an egg in the shell is known amongst one of the popular methods. Firstly, take a cooking pan. Pour a few inches of water in it and heat it. Now, take a small bowl. Break the egg carefully in this bowl. Add a bit of vinegar in water and stir well. Remember that you do not need boiling or shimmering water. Just before the water in this pan starts to shimmer, using a spoon or spatula stir the water, speedily stir it in a circular manner. Now, pick up the bowl and side the egg in the middle of the pan, that's it! A little white might spread, but, don't worry! It will start getting cooked, you can use spatula if required, to keep the egg white in the center. Use a spatula, even if the egg sticks to the pan bottom. After a few minutes, the egg will start wobbling. It's the right time to take it out, using a slotted spoon. So, the egg is ready to be served with a toast bread. Sprinkle salt and pepper over it and your breakfast is ready.
In the Microwave
Poaching an egg using a microwave is an easy and fast way to cook this classic food item. Take a dessert bowl. Boil water to fill up ¾th part of this bowl. Pour water into the bowl. Next, add a dash of vinegar to this water and stir constantly in a circular motion. Now break an egg, be careful, put it in center of the bowl. Now, place the lid on the bowl and place the bowl in the microwave. Cook the egg in microwave for 1½ minute. Now take it out and serve as desired. You can cook it longer, if required.
With an Egg Poacher
Fill a pan with an inch of water and place it on heat. Now, place the egg cups in the egg poacher frame. Lightly grease the bottom of cups with butter. Now break an egg into each cup of the egg poacher. Once the water starts boiling, lower the heat. Slowly place the egg-poacher into this pan and cover it. Let the eggs cook for about 2-3 minutes and they are ready! Turn off the heat, remove the egg poacher from the pan and slide the eggs one-by-one on the dish using a spatula.
