How To Overcome Stage Fright - Get Rid Of Public Speaking Phobia

Don’t feel blue if you have stage fright. Even performers have stage fright once in a while.
The difference between performers and those who get the better out of their fear is that the former can get over it. This is because they know the right steps on how to overcome stage fright.

First and foremost, one must review the performance skills. If this is stage fright, this is related to a performance. If you’re suffering from stage fright minutes before it is your turn to go onstage, you can just review what you should do.

If you are afraid that you will forget what you set out to do in the first place, you have to just remove that pessimistic thought in your head or else you will surely forget. Tell yourself that you will do good and you will remember everything. This increases the possibility of you actually doing good and doing everything. This is thinking positively and is one way on how to overcome stage fright.

Another way is to prepare all the work. If you do everything thoroughly, then you are confident that you can get the job done. This reduces the anxiety. It is also smart and practical to double check the things that you need, like costumes or props. If you are a musician, double check if you have all the songs and the notes that you need in your repertory.

Put yourself in control of everything, If you know that you can easily correct whatever happens unexpectedly, then you will be more confident. You can also practice your relaxation skills before stepping on stage.

Breathing in and breathing out helps a lot because it sets your body to the right disposition. If you are anxious and tense, the breathing in and breathing out process assists the body to get into that relaxed state that it should be in before a performance.

Here’s an extremely important tip on how to overcome stage fright. Don’t be distracted or rushed on the day of your performance. As much as possible, you should be relaxed and calm. This can be done by envisioning what the entire performance would be like, from beginning to end.

If you are an actor, make yourself the medium of the playwright in order for you to get the spirit and the intention of the play. If you are a musician, use your body and your voice as the instruments in touching your audience.

Through performing, you are sharing your gift. As an actor, you are touching the lives of the audience. As a musician, you are inspiring your audience. A performance can always trigger an insight or motivate the audience. That is the power of the artist.

He can either inspire or influence. In fact, he can do both. Now if one has stage fright, this cannot be done. Therefore it is important for artists to remember that they should share their talent with the world.
