How to Ollie
Finding it funny to read how to ollie from an article? Perhaps what's written here can help you understand the minute details of this trick. Read the article to find what they are...

The only way you can earn the right of being called a respectable skateboarder, you need to have some tricks on your belt. Otherwise, it's just a guy with his board, roaming around the neighborhood, not knowing what to do next. Plus, you can't let those boys laugh at you and get away with it, can you? You can show them, easily that is, how you can do not just one, but as many tricks as you can on your skateboard. So, where do we begin? Learning how to ollie is an ideal start. And before you find the need and desire to learn all the tricks, we better get this trick right next to perfect.
Steps to an Ollie
First, read through the steps carefully and then go outside to try it at your own pace.
- If you read the article I mentioned earlier, than you know that the most important point is your stance
- The next thing that comes is the pop.
- But before that, you need to know that the only way you can ollie higher is when you have gained enough speed.
- The pop is where the skateboard actually springs up as you slam your back foot on the board and jump up.
- Then comes your landing with the front foot, gaining the balance back on the board, and skating ahead.
Now I know that you're here to get steps on how to do an ollie, I can't help but give you another cool trick to learn. How about doing an ollie on a tech deck? It's fun, easy to learn, and can be a good way to show those boys what you're made out of (OK, perhaps not to that level, but it's a cool trick to know). For this, you'll have to purchase a tech deck and a mini-skateboard.
- Keep the tech deck in place and grab your mini-skateboard.
- Take your index finger and place it between the front and logo on the skateboard.
- If you want to ollie higher, then you keep the index finger closer to the logo.
- Next comes the middle finger which goes on the back of the skateboard, the tail.
- With the middle finger in place, press down on the board as hard as you can.
- As you do this, the front of the board will go up in the air.
- Here, you will not move the finger from its place. And as you do so, the same pop will happen as well (just like it would when you do it for real).
- As the pop happens, your hand will turn vertical and the index finger will go up to the front of the skateboard.
- For landing, use the index finger to bring the board back on the deck.
- Make sure you don't push too hard or else the board will hit the deck badly.
