When you add vanilla flavor to the whipping cream, understand that you will need about 1 teaspoon of the flavor for each cup of whipping cream. If you want to make whipped cream for dessert which will be sitting out for a while, it is recommended to use icing sugar instead of granulated sugar, so that the shape of the icing on the dessert does not change. If you want to store whipped cream for some other day, you can do so. However, remember it will not stay longer than 3 days and you will have to add stabilizer to it.
How to Make Whipped Cream with Heavy Cream
We will now make delicious homemade whipped cream in a few minutes.
Ingredients
- Heavy Cream - 1 cup
- Vanilla Extract - 1 teaspoon
- White Sugar - 3 tablespoons
- The first step of making whipped cream is to place the blender jar or bowl and beater in the fridge for an hour or so.
- Then pour heavy cream and sugar into the bowl and begin to beat on low.
- You will need to beat on low for about 30 to 45 seconds. Make sure that the cream and sugar are mixed well.
- Once the cream is well mixed, add vanilla to the cream and increase the speed of the mixer to medium high.
- Continue to beat the cream until soft peaks are formed. When the peaks are formed, understand that your cream is ready.
Do you wonder how can whipped cream be made without cream? Well whipped cream can be made from milk. To make whipped cream from milk, you will have to get whole fat milk, which is not processed. Once you get it, leave it aside in the refrigerator. You will notice that the fat will separate from the milk and rise to the top. We will use the so gathered cream to make whipped cream. In case you are concerned about the calories and cholesterol in whole milk, you can use evaporated milk, but remember to freeze the milk for an hour or so.

- Start whipping the cream at low-speed. When the cream thickens, gradually add sugar and vanilla and continue to whip the cream, till it doubles in volume and peaks are formed.
