How to Make Homemade Slime

- Borax powder, a spoonful
- White craft glue
- Water, 100 ml
- Food color, 6 drops (preferably green)
- Cups, 2 (disposable)
First, take one of the disposable cups. Pour 80 ml of water and then stir in the borax powder into it. Let it set for sometime. In the meanwhile pour sufficient of glue into the other cup to make a 2.5 cm thick layer. Add the rest of the water to this and then tinge this mixture with the food color and mix it all up really well. Now simply add a single tablespoon of the borax solvent to the glue concoction and voila! Thy slime shall be ready in a matter of 45 seconds all set for your child to mess with! But make sure to teach him that he must store it safely in a plastic bag when he's done playing with it. Tell him that it is very slippery and someone can suffer a bad fall if he leaves it lying around on the carpet. An item that has to be added to your Halloween crafts list.

How to Make Slime with Cornstarch
Make sure that you have gathered,
- Cornstarch, 2 cups
- Water, 1 cup
- Food color, 2 tsp.
Just pour the water into a cooking pan and heat it. Refrain from boiling it though. Next transfer the water onto a big trough or vessel and add a few droplets of food coloring if you wish. Gradually introduce the cornstarch to this imbued water and stir it well. Knead it with your fingers if you like. If you see it becoming too thick and dry then slowly and carefully add a little more water. Your pasty homemade slime is as good as ready to play with so enjoy!
I shall also give you another recipe which is slightly more work.
You need to get hold of,
- Cornstarch, ¾ cup
- Vegetable oil, 475 ml
Mix the two ingredients together and cool it in the freezer. Take it out when chilled, ladle through once to blend it well and them warm the solution on a mild flame. In some time you will notice that the solution would be viscous but in a state to flow. Remove from flame at this juncture and play away to glory.
There is a fun experiment you can actually do with this particular recipe. All you need is a 6"x6"x1" Styrofoam bar. Rub this bar well on some very dry hair to charge it with static electricity. Now start pouring the slime out of one vessel to another and break the fall of the slime by inserting the Styrofoam on its way. You shall see how the slime just freezes up! The flow will start again when you remove the Styrofoam. Fun, eh?
How to Make Slime Without Borax or Cornstarch
Now, many a time people look for a solution to how to make slime without borax or cornstarch. Believe me it is really difficult to make it without either of these ingredients. Some options like using baby talcum and water and glue solution and using sugar, flour, and glue. But the result is seldom the same. Try this if you must and you'll need,
- White glue
- Laundry starch
Try mixing laundry starch and white glue in a ratio of 1:2. Blend well, allow it to set for some 8 - 10 minutes and knead the mixture vehemently for that gooey slimy feel. You can try experimenting with the color by using soy sauce if food coloring is not available.
It is important that you strictly warn your kids about not putting the slime into their mouths irrespective of their degree of toxicity. They are only meant for external use. But really, these slimy things somehow look so right that once in a while the child will be tempted to run her tongue along it. How to Make Edible Slime
Prepare a little in advance and you need to keep handy,
- Water, 8 oz.
- Metamucil psyllium fiber, 1 tsp. (soluble fiber)
- Glow pigment or food color, 2 drops
Simply, add the fiber to the water. Pour the solution into an oven-safe bowl and place it on high for approximately 3 minutes in the microwave. After that take the arrangement out of the oven, add the color to it, stir really well and place it back into the oven for an added three minutes. You can also use multiple colors and blend it in or streak it on the slime and later mix it up well. Take it out and your homemade slime shall be ready to be gorged. If you want it to be a little thicker and not so gooey then microwave for at least two more minutes and this can be stored for up to 7 days as long as the moistness is retained.
