Ingredients
28 ounces (one large can) crushed tomatoes
1 cup diced onion
2 tablespoons basil pesto
2 tablespoons dried oregano (3 tablespoons fresh)
1 clove of garlic (use 2 if they are small in size)
2 teaspoons kosher salt
Method
- Start making you pizza sauce from scratch by dicing onion and mincing the garlic.
- In a pan, heat some 3 to 4 tablespoons of olive oil, or butter on a low flame.
- Now as the butter or the olive oil is heated enough, put the onion in this pan and stir till it starts getting a little transparent.
- Add the minced garlic and stir again till the garlic wear a darker shade.
- Now add the crushed tomatoes and simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes. Here stirring continuously is necessary so that the sauce is warm enough.
- Add the basil pesto and dried oregano to this mixture.
- Blend this mixture until smooth.
- Use it on your pizzas
Ingredients
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 tablespoon ground oregano
1 1/2 teaspoons dried minced garlic
1 teaspoon ground paprika
Method
- In a pan, mix together tomato sauce and tomato paste and heat it on a low flame by stirring continuously for about 5 to 10 minutes.
- Add first the minced garlic, oregano and paprika.
- Stir it well.
- Spread this sauce on your pizza.

1/3 cup olive oil
2 cup finely chopped onions
8 cup peeled, seeded and coarsely chopped tomatoes (put through blender, if desired)
2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
2 tablespoons oregano, crumbled
2 tablespoons basil, crumbled
1 bay leaf
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 tablespoon pepper
Method
- In a stainless steel pan, heat the olive oil.
- Now add the onion and stir fry till they are transparent. Then put the garlic in this mixture and stir again.
- Now add the tomato paste, bay leaf, oregano, basil, salt, pepper and sugar to further bring this mixture to boil.
- After the sauce is ready, remove the bay leaf and use it.
- Make sure that the pizza sauce is smooth and fine.
