- 12 sliced cucumbers
- 4 cups sugar
- 4 cups white vinegar
- ½ cup pickling salt

- 1 ⅓ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 ⅓ tsp celery seed
- 1 ⅓ tsp mustard seed
- 1 tsp alum powder
- In a bowl, mix sugar vinegar, alum powder and pickling salt till all the ingredients dissolve well.
- Then, add coriander seeds, turmeric powder, celery seeds and mustard seeds to the mixture.
- Take a large jar and place sliced cucumber at the bottom of the jar.
- Pour the mixture on the cucumber and place the jar in the refrigerator.

- ½ tsp dried crushed red pepper
- 1 ½ tbsp coarse salt
- 2 cups water

- Leave the mixture aside for 2 hours, so that sugar and salt are dissolved.
