How to Make Pew Bows
This article will guide you on how to make pew bows. Read the simple procedures given below to make one for your wedding day.

Method 1:
- The materials you will require for making pew bows are 6 yards of ribbon or lace, scissors and a thin and flexible craft wire.
- The first step is to cut the ribbon or lace in two equal parts. For cutting it evenly in two parts, fold the ribbon in the center and cut it along the folded line.
- Now, take one part and again find its center. Fold over one side of the bow, and then the other side. This process is similar to that of tying a shoe lace.
- This will create the basic bow. Now, adjust the bow by pulling both the sides lightly. This will help you in making both sides of the bow symmetrical.
- Once the pew bow becomes of the desired size and shape, make the tail with the other piece of ribbon or lace. Tie this piece to the center of the pew bow which you have just created. You need to tie the ribbon or lace in such a way, that the tail is even on both the sides.
- This will complete the core procedure of making pew bows. Now to add the finishing touch, trim the ends of the tail string so that they look even.
- The next step is to loop the 12 inch piece of light and flexible wire, around the pew bow knot. At the back of the knot, twist the wire so that the ends of wire are joined together in a proper manner. Use the wire to hook the bow to the pew or pew clip. With this, you have completed the process of making them and thus, succeeded in adding a unique look to your wedding decorations.
- Decide on the length you want. Generally, the length of the tail is 8 to 10 inches. Try to make it long because, you can alter the length of the tail to make it short, but, the other way round is not possible.
- Hold the ribbon 8 inches from one end, and from the other end, pinch the ribbon firmly between the thumb and index finger.
- For the center, create a loop of 3 inches. During this process, the thumb should be inside the loop.
- Half way round, twist the ribbon to an angle of 180 degrees. After doing this, the right side will face up again.
- Make a 5 inch loop and slide the index finger under the side which is facing upwards.
- You should continue with this process till you have a minimum of 4 loops on each of the sides. You can add more loops if you want a more wholesome bow.
- Now, get the second tail to the side of the bow. Through the center of the small loop, thread a wire and secure it firmly. If, it is not tight and firm, then there are chances of the loops loosening and coming out.
- According to the first tail, trim the second tail so that they are even. You can either make a 'V' cut or you can trim it to form an angle.
- Hold the center of the bow with the thumb and the index finger and start arranging the loops. If the center is tight, the loops won't come out. If the loops come out, then tighten the center and try again.
