How to Make Homemade Ice Cream

Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream
Ingredients
- Strawberries, 2 cups
- Beaten egg yolks, 3
- Milk, ½ pint
- Double milk cream, ½ pint
- Sugar, 4 ounces
- Salt, a pinch
- Vanilla essence, 1 tsp
In a bowl, mash strawberries with half the sugar, and refrigerate it. In a saucepan, mix the egg yolks, milk, salt and the remaining sugar. Place a saucepan over medium heat, stirring continuously. Take care, that the egg mix should not reach boiling point. Pour the mix in a bowl, until cooled to room temperature. Place the bowl in the refrigerator for a minimum 3 hours, and stir occasionally. When the mix is cool, blend in the cream, vanilla essence, and the mashed strawberries. Freeze this ice cream mix, and serve chilled. One can also use a ice cream maker here. Once all the ingredients have blended with the mashed strawberries, pour it in the ice cream machine and follow the instructions.
Fruity Ice Cream
Ingredients
- Sliced peaches, 2 cups
- Milk, 4 cups
- Milk cream, 2 cups
- Beaten eggs, 4
- Sugar, 2 cups
- Salt, ½ tsp
- Vanilla essence, 2 tsps
In a bowl, mash sliced peaches with sugar, and refrigerate it overnight. In a saucepan, prepare custard by heating and mixing milk, milk cream, eggs, sugar and salt. Cool it at room temperature, and refrigerate it. Press the peaches through a juicer and make about 1quart of peach puree. Add fruit puree to the custard mixture, and freeze it. Serve chilled with a sprinkling of nuts, if desired.
Coconut Ice Cream
Ingredients
- Coconut cream, 14 ounces
- Sweetened flaked coconut, 1½ cups
- Heavy Cream, 1½ cups
- Milk, 1 cup
Blend milk and coconut in a food processor, and stir in cream and flaked coconut. Pour this mix into the ice cream maker's container, and freeze as stated in instructions. Serve the coconut ice cream chilled. Take a look at some yummy homemade coconut ice cream recipes.
Easy Recipe for Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream
Ingredients
- Eggs, 2
- Evaporated milk, 1 can
- Vanilla, 1 tsp
- Sugar, 1¼ cups
Combine eggs, sugar, and ½ can of evaporated milk on low heat, stirring continuously. Cool to room temperature, add vanilla and the remaining evaporated milk in the egg mix. Pour the mix into an ice maker, add more milk to fill container, and freeze as in the instructions.
Chocolate Ice Cream
Ingredients
- Chocolate, 2 ounces
- Flour, 2 heaped tbsps
- Eggs, 2
- Sugar, 2 cups
- Milk, 1½ pints
- Thin cream, 1 quart
Boil the milk in a saucepan. In a bowl, mix ½ flour with 1 cup sugar, eggs and beat the mixture, until light and fluffy. Stir this mix into the boiling milk, and cook for twenty minutes, stirring continuously. In a separate small saucepan, add chocolate scrapes, 4 tbsps of sugar, and 2 tbsps of hot water. Stir over medium heat, until smooth and glossy. Add this to the milk mixture, and cook again for 20 minutes on low flame. Remove from flame, and stir in the remaining sugar and cream. Cool to room temperature, pour in a freezing dish and freeze.
