How to Make Homemade Grape Jelly

Grape is the fruit of all season. Grapes are usually pale green in color but they can also be black, blue, golden and purple-red. They are rich in ellagic acid as well as in nutrition. Grape skin contains resveratrol, a dietary constituent, which is also a strong anti-oxidant. Grape seed extracts have natural antihistamine and anti-inflammatory properties. They are considered useful for maintaining heart health and curbing heart disease. Grapes are mostly used for wine production. Moreover, grapes also make delicious jellies. - 4 cups grapes
- 1 cup sugar
- Jelly bag
- First wash the grapes and remove the stems.
- Add 1 cup water to the grapes.
- Heat the mixture and let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Strain the mixture in the jelly bag.
- Keep it in a cool place for 24 hours. Dip the mixture out and strain again.
- Mix 1 cup sugar for each cup of mixture. Heat, and keep stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
- Cook until the mixture sheets off the spoon. Pour the jelly mixture into hot jelly glasses.
You need
- 5 cups of fresh grape juice
- 7 cups of sugar
- 1 (2 ounces) box of pectin
- 1/2 teaspoon butter
- Set the jars and tops in a pan of water, bring it to a boil to sterilize it.
- Measure 5 cups of juice in a pot, stir in the box of pectin and add 1/2 teaspoon of butter to reduce foaming.
- Bring the jelly mixture to a full boil. Keep stirring constantly, then add the sugar quickly.
- Bring it to full boil again. Boil for about one minute, do not stop stirring the mixture.
- Now put it away from the heat and skim off the foam.
- Pour it quickly into the jars to within 1/8 inch of the top. Wipe the rims and the threads of the jars and cover them with two piece lids.

- 1 can (6 ounces) frozen grape juice concentrate
- 1 package (1 and 3/4 ounces) powder pectin
- 2 cups hot tap water
- 3 and 3/4 cups of sugar
- Use a 3-quart casserole dish, blend in the grape juice and pectin.
- Stir in hot water. Cover and microwave on high for 8 to 9 minutes until it boils.
- Start stirring after 4 minutes, add the sugar and keep stirring.
- Cover and microwave again on high for 6 to 8 minutes.
- Wait for 4 minutes and stir. Boil the mixture for a minute.
- Stir, skim and put it into 1/2 pint jars.Cover with lids and rims and keep them in boiling water for about 10 minutes.
