Making Hemp Bracelets
Bracelets always look great and they can be your best style statement. Many of you must be crazy about pearl bracelets, diamond bracelets, beaded bracelets, even the trendy rubber bracelets. Making hemp bracelets is a great way to give your look, a more personalized touch of style. Once you learn how to make hemp bracelets, you can further enhance their beauty by making them with beads and charms of your choice.
Materials Required
- 20 lb hemp twine and safety pins
- Beads and clasps
- Chord tips and scissors
- Cut one hemp twine that is about six times longer than the actual size of the hemp bracelet that you want to make. Cut the second hemp twine, in a size which is twice the size of the first twine. (approximately 12 times the original size of the bracelet)
- Fold both the hemp strands exactly in the middle, by folding each strand at a time and making a crease in the middle of the strands. Tie knots at the creased midpoints of the hemp strands, leaving a loop end that should be at least 1/2 inch long.
- Ensure the knotted end of the hemp strand by the safety pin. Secure this safety pinned hemp twine at a tough end, like a table or a chair cover and place a heavy object on that safety pinned loop to keep it at one place.
- Then arrange those four hemp strands in such a way that the two shortest strands will come in the middle and the longest hemp strands in the sides of each of the shorter strands. It is now time to knot the hemp strands.
- Pull the hemp twine at a right side to a 450 angle from the middle twines. With your left hand, guide that strand into the two middle twines and then at the backside of the left outer twine (this will create the "4" shape).
- Holding the figure "4", repeat the same procedure with the left outer twine and create another "4" shape. Tighten them by pulling both the outer hemp twines. Repeat the same procedure at the back side of the opposite twines.
- Repeat the same alternate pattern throughout the length of the hemp twines to get a flat hemp bracelet and create the original pattern throughout the bracelet to get the spiral hemp bracelet.
- You can also do beading on your hemp bracelet. Make sure you tie at least 2 knots around and in between the two beads. You can create any pattern and design with the beads or simply put a few beads in the middle to highlight the middle part of the hemp bracelet.
You can use different colors and hemp textures to make a variety of personalized hemp bracelets that will suit all your outfits. I am sure you are also planning to make a hemp bracelet on your own! Am I right!
