Contrary to what this shot's moniker suggests, there is no cake or crumbly layer or cream involved. In fact chocolate is not even a part of this shot's ingredients list. The whole twist in this drink is its taste. The ingredients combine in such a way, to give one the taste of actually drinking a liquidy cakey mixture. You may taste that rich cake flavor during or after the shot. This shot is also considered an interactive shot as the slice of lemon is the extra step, that adds to its flavor rather than just downing the shot.
You will need:
- Hazelnut Liqueur - A liqueur made from hazelnut, alcohol and water is responsible for the cakey taste in this novel shot. Though any brand of hazelnut liqueur can be used, the most popular and seemingly best choice is Frangelico.
- Vodka - Plain or citron flavored vodka should be used. For a twist, you can even try vanilla flavored vodka.
- Lemon - a small lemon wedge or slice is needed.
- Sugar - brown or white sugar can be used to coat the lemon wedge. This helps in enhancing the flavor of the liqueur.

- 15 ml Frangelico
- 15 ml Vodka
- 1 Lemon wedge or slice
- Sugar
- In a shot glass, pour the vodka and Frangelico.
- You can add the liquids to a cocktail shaker, filled halfway with ice and shake well, then strain into shot glass.
- Powder the lemon slice with sugar.
- Lick the sugar off the lemon.
- Down the shot in one gulp.
