How to Make Crepes from Scratch

This is a simple, yet delicious crêpe batter recipe, which will not take more than a few minutes to make. Most of the ingredients required to make this batter are usually available at home. Although the recipe does not mention sugar in it, you may choose to add about two tablespoons of sugar to the batter, if you want sweet crepes. Alternately, you can use sugar filling in the crepes. Ingredients
  • Wheat Flour 1 cup
  • Eggs 2
  • Milk ½ cup
  • Salt ¼ teaspoon
  • Water ½ cup
  • Butter (melted) 2 tablespoons
Method
  • In a large bowl, break the eggs and beat them lightly.
  • Add flour to the eggs and whisk together.
  • There is a chance of lumps being formed, so make sure that you whisk well.
  • Gradually add water and milk into the egg mixture and stir to combine all the ingredients well.
  • In case there are any lumps, they will dissolve once you whisk after adding water and milk.
  • At last, add salt and butter to the mixture and beat until a batter of smooth consistency is formed.
  • Now place an oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat.
  • Pour in half a cup of the batter on the frying pan and tilt the pan in a circular motion, so that the batter coats the surface evenly and a thin layer is formed.
  • Let the crêpe cook for about 2 to 3 minutes, till the bottom is light brown in color.
  • Loosen with spatula, flip it over to the other side and let it cook again.
  • Serve hot with filling of your choice.
How to Make Crepes with Pancake Mix

  • Pancake Mix 1 cup
  • Eggs 2
  • Milk ½ cup
  • Water ½ cup
  • Butter (melted) 2 tablespoons

Method
  • In a large bowl combine pancake mix, eggs, milk, water, butter and salt and whisk till all the ingredients are mixed well and the batter is smooth in consistency.
  • Spread about ¼ cup of batter on to a hot griddle to make a thin, even layer of batter.
  • Each side of the crêpe will take approximately 2 minutes to cook. After one side is cooked, flip it and let the other side cook as well.
  • Once both the sides are cooked, spread the chocolate spread on any one of the sides, fold in half and serve hot.
