How to Make Celebration of Mother’s Day in 2009 an Unforgettable Experience

A woman’s life is not complete without being a mother and my life takes on this new dimension as I celebrate my first Mother’s day in 2009. I eagerly await the arrival of this day with mixed feelings of love and joy in becoming a new mother.

My heart is overwhelmed with pride every time I touch or hold my little bundle of joy. It makes me realize the value of my own mother who spent her entire lifetime caring, guiding, loving and solving all my problems ever since I can remember. So Mother’s day in 2009 calls for a dual joy for me; first and foremost to thank mine for bringing me up so well and secondly to celebrate the joy of my new role.

I believe a father plays an instrumental role in the wife’s first Mother’s day celebrations as the child is too young to thank its mother. The best gift he can give her is a day of rest as she will obviously be very tired caring for the infant around the clock. The father should take over the mother’s duties at least for a day gifting her a well deserved break from her routine.

It would also be thoughtful to give her something special for Mother’s day in 2009 like a bouquet of flowers or cards. A lavish dinner could also be planned either for the couple alone if a nurse can be arranged to care for the baby or for the entire family making Mother’s day in 2009 a joyous occasion of thanksgiving for the new arrival.

‘You will not understand the importance of what I do till you become a mother yourself’; these were words I heard my mother say all through my growing up years. Mother’s day in 2009 makes them all the more meaningful for me as I experience motherhood myself. And I remain ever grateful to her for being my best friend, philosopher and guide.
