How to Make Balloon Arches
Are you planning to throw a party and want to decorate your house and the outdoors with balloon arches. If you do not know how to make balloon arches, then read this article which will tell you everything about it.
Mentioned below are the two methods that you can use to make balloon arches.
Method #1
Materials:
18 inch round latex balloons, helium tank, kite string and balloon weights.
Procedure:
At one end of the kite string, attach a weight and inflate all the balloons with helium gas. Join two balloons together by knotting them with each other. This way, pairs of the balloons will be formed. The kite string has to be kept in between the knots. For this purpose, hold two sets of two balloons together and twist the balloons collectively with the string in between. Slide this cluster of balloons towards the weight. Repeat the above two steps till the arch becomes of a desired size. After that, tie the other end to the second weight which will complete the work of building a balloon arch. For moving the balloon arch to a desired location, move it by carrying the weights. For moving both the weights simultaneously, two people are required. You can always choose the color of the balloons according to the party theme.
Method #2
Materials:
Aluminum rod or PVC pipe, electrical tape, balloons, mini lights, flowers, beads and ribbons.
Procedure:
In order to make the frame, you will require strong and sturdy material such as an aluminum rod or PVC pipe. An arch can be created by using the pipes for making the sides of the frame while, the curve can be made from the rod. Attach both the materials with the help of an electrical tape. Inflate a balloon and you can use it as a template which will ensure that all the balloons are of the same size. Make a set of four balloons. You can either form a pattern of different colors of balloons or you can use all balloons of the same color. The next step is to attach the balloon clusters to the frame which involves twisting the balloons around the frame. This should be done after having sufficient prior information related to balloon twisting tips and tricks. Start from one end of the frame and continue doing this till you have covered the complete frame. For covering the weights, you can attach extra balloons at the end of the frame. Attach the arch to the wall or ceiling with the help of a wire. After you are finished attaching all the balloons, secure its end with heavy objects like sand bag, bricks, etc. This can also be attached to free standing objects like tables, chairs, etc. If the arch is near the doorway, then you can attach it to the door frame with the help of a string. While doing this, take care that the balloons do not burst out. You can also add some decoration to this arch like strings of mini lights, flowers, beads, ribbons, etc. If you are using mini lights, make sure that the cords do not get hot and ensure that the cords are hidden well.
Balloon arches in a party decoration is most often the main object for kids to conduct their party games, supervised or unsupervised. Keeping this aspect in mind too, you can plan kids birthday parties where you can come up with a number of party games with the arch as the main focus. I hope now that you are all set to decorate your house with balloon arches, and if any of your friends have a doubt about how to make balloon arches, then you can surely resolve it for them.
