How to Make a Scrapbook

It was a boring Sunday afternoon and I was glued to the net trying to entertain myself. Then out popped a web page on how to make a scrapbook. Since I had nothing better to do, I sat down to try my hands at scrapbooking. Making a scrapbook, is not only easy but also is loads of fun. The best part is, a scrapbook can also be an ideal gift. So if you make a scrapbook for your boyfriend which commemorates all those things you do together, it can be a great way to show that you care. Now, before you start thinking of questions about how to make a scrapbook for your boyfriend, take a look below.

Before you go about making a scrapbook, you need to get all your scrapbooking supplies organized. Get your hands on a plain scrapbook album, some colored sheets of paper, glue scissors, photographs and anything else that you would like to decorate your album with. Making the Cover

For those of you first timers at making scrapbooks, it is best to take a ready-made scrapbook cover and decorate it. You can pick one with removable pages, if that is difficult to come by, then you can pick a medium-sized office file and turn it into your scrapbook. To make your scrapbook cover you must have a theme in mind. This theme should be carried on through the scrapbook. To decorate the scrapbook album according to your wish, you can take the following ideas for inspiration.

• You can take some fabric, like Indian fabrics or some other ethnic inspired fabric and cover your scrapbook.
• You can also cover the album in homemade paper and stick some dried flowers, feathers or twigs etc.
• According to your theme, you can cut out pictures from magazines etc. or your photographs of friends and family and stick them on the cover to make a mini collage.
• If you are good at sketching then you can draw a beautiful modern art inspired piece or anything else that pleases you.
• You can even cover the album with acid free paper and stick little trinkets on it.

Making the Page

Making a scrapbook page is equally easy. You must have a clear picture of what you want each page to say. Once you have a clear idea of the theme for every page, then it is a lot easier to work. So for example, the first page can have an introduction to the scrapbook. If you are making it for your best friend or your boyfriend, you can choose to write or paste a beautiful poem. If you can come up with it on your own, then nothing like it, otherwise you can just search the Internet for one. You can then decorate around the theme of the poem. For example, if it mentions a sunset, then stick a picture with a sunset in the background or something similar etc. Remember while decorating your scrapbook pages, you must not be afraid to experiment.

It is not necessary that you follow one color theme through the page, you can always mix and match colors. Don't forget to add mementos to your pages, these can be movie tickets and things you bought together like key chains etc. or even shells or a feather from a trip you took together. AN important tip, if you are adding say dried flowers or trinkets etc. to your pages, you can add some sheets of butter paper or something to protect your artwork.
