Let us start with two scenarios:
First, imagine a typical urban couple living in a big penthouse. Unfortunately, their rooms have been architecture-d so badly that the master bedroom is very huge and seems empty in spite of being furnished beautifully. They need to create a division in the room to make it seem a little more full and less like barren land. Second, imagine a family of four living in an average sized apartment. They have two rooms. But, the two children need a room for themselves each. They need a way in which they can divide a room, to create a space for each child. They cannot build walls in the apartment.

The answer to both these scenarios is Room Dividers.

Room Dividers- As oxford would define it, a room divider is "a screen or piece of furniture that divides a room into two parts." So, now it is up to you to decide how you would like to divide your space. You could go for cheap room dividers or simply make a room divider. There are many types of room dividers that you can opt for. But in my opinion, the one you make, is way more beautiful than, probably, any classic brand that you can buy! This is because, it has your style. As such, your space will reflect you the best, it can. You can personalize it with family photographs or a family tree. You could even try having everyone's hand prints on it. Bottom line, it will be gorgeous. If it is not, make another one to cover it!

You have to be aware of the space specifications before you make a room divider:

• Firstly, if your room is small and you wish to organize it better by creating a division.
• Secondly, if your room is very big and you need to create a division in order to make the room more functional.

On the basis of these specifications you need to decide the type of room divider that you wish to have. Nonetheless, in both the cases the room divider will add ornamental, decorative and functional value to the room.

Now we come to the core question, how to make a room divider:
Depending on your specification and preference you could either have a semi transparent kind of room divider for a smaller space or an opaque room divider for a larger space. The point is to have the most utilization from it.
In both cases of room dividers, you can have it in 3 basic types. Let's discuss the methods:

1. Folding Room Divider:
For this type of a room divider you can make panel frames as per the height that suits the décor of the room.
Next, you add the inside panels. For this, you can use anything from glass to fabric or even wood.
Last step, you assemble all the panels (in the frames) with hinges and place it at the angle you like.
2. Single Panel Room Divider:
This is the simplest form of room dividers, to make. All you need to do is make a panel frame and the inside panel.
Next, add feet to it, so that it is sturdy and stable.
Then, place it at the point that suits you.
3. Curtain Room Dividers: They are also very fondly known as hanging room dividers.
These are mostly fabric or beads.
You can make a frame and suspend the fabric or beads from the ceiling of the frame.
This type can give the space a very mystical appeal!
