How to Make a Ribbon Bow

Wondering how to make a ribbon bow neatly? Go through the following article to know how to go about it.
If you are thinking that making a ribbon bow is no man's task, well, that isn't the case for sure. I think many of us are well acquainted with the right technique of going about making a simple ribbon bow. Although, many times, I have seen people getting into a hassle while tying one especially when it comes to gifts or presents. Also, tying decorative bows to wreaths and hair make them complete and stand out. Well, the technique is almost same for all kinds, however, there are slight differences and I am here to present forth those.
  • The steps to tie a perfect bow for hair are pretty simple, rather, I would say this is the simplest ribbon bow you can come across.
  • First of all, comb the hair properly and gather them in your hands to imitate a ponytail.
  • Choose the ribbon color of your choice and cut it accordingly. Place it under the ponytail exactly at the center.
  • Now take the two ends and cross them over to tie a single knot followed by making two loops, one in your left hand and the other in your right. See to it that the two tails are equal in length.
  • Next, take the right loop and fold it back and forth through the gap between the two and tie it tightly. You can pull it as much you want, to increase the circumference of the loops.
  • There you go, done with a simple yet cute ribbon bow for hair!
Ribbon Bow for a Wreath
  • For making a ribbon bow for a wreath, first of all, take a thick wired ribbon of the length you want and cut it.
  • Initially, tie a pretty loose knot at the center of the ribbon. Then, start forming loops at both the ends by pinching and twisting over and over again around 6 times to get a loop mass.
  • Take the first knot which you had tied and place it at the center of the loops after which take the ends back and forth and tie them on the other side by turning the loop mass upside down.
  • Take the ribbon and knot it on the wreath. Now, what you need to do is just pull the tails of the entire bow to the length of your choice and decorate the wreath further.
Ribbon Bow for a Present
  • Well, this isn't as complicated as the previous one surely. First of all, wrap the gift paper of your choice onto the gift box properly using a clear masking tape.
  • Then, choose the ribbon accordingly and cut it of the length you want it of.
  • Now, slip the ribbon below the box either at the left or the right end of the gift box such that it appears to either side only and not at the center. Take the two ends in your hands and tie first knot tightly.
  • Next, start making loops one after the other to create a loop mass and glue it at the center of the ribbon. Here you create curling ends to the tail as well.
  • This is the end of the task. You are done with the job of making a bow for gift boxes.
Well, now you do know so go ahead and experiment. It may seem difficult initially, however, little bit of practice is going to make you a pro in no time, take it from me! Good luck!
