How To Love Yourself Fat
If you suffer under the burdens of obesity, did you ever dream under all that stuff, a golden nugget was buried? Being overweight, then fat, and then obese was the main catalyst for learning to love myself large. I wrote a book about it and set up a community to help you love yourself too.
I’ve been overweight since I was in High School, but there has never been one moment in my life when I didn’t think I was fat. I moved from fat to obese after I had my children. I’m a different kind of fat woman. I carry myself well. I choose stylish clothing. I don’t think I’m less than anyone else just because I’m overweight. I don’t enter into a crowd of strangers with a shrinking feeling. I know who I am. I don’t come across as less-than in any area of my life and I’ve had to work hard within myself to get here. It’s just been in the last few years that I realized that writing the be-all, end-all, do-all diet book was not the end goal in my life because that was not my area of expertise.
And what was my area of expertise? I know how to love myself large. I know how to accomplish self-acceptance and self-love. My mind went boinnnng! when I made this discovery, and it’s been a source of life-changing results. I decided that what I needed to do as a pay-it-forward was to share with the obese community how to accomplish self-acceptance and self-love themselves. This became my retirement goal.
I decided to write the story of my life and how I learned to love and accept myself. My book lives at www.theworldofwithin.com and I hope you’ll enjoy the story of a lifetime. I share this out loud story with you so that you could see how I got where I am today and how it might be possible for you to love yourself this much, too.
Obesity has been the main catalyst in my life. It is the reason I became a searcher for the truth. I wanted to find a way to heal this condition permanently. I tried everything I could think of to effect a cure. Not one thing I tried provided a permanent healing. Medicine didn’t help; psychology didn’t help; religion didn’t help and then I discovered the self-help movement and from that jumping-off point, I discovered metaphysics.
That word, metaphysics, is really scary to some people. It shouldn’t be. It’s defined as the philosophical study of being. Studying being was a natural for me. I’ve always been a searcher for the Truth. I had given religion a try thinking it was there. I’d even become a nun. I never had my questions answered satisfactorily. In metaphysics, I found some very satisfying answers, answers that allowed me to settle within myself and love what I found there.
I discovered that because I was thinking, I must be mind itself, because it’s only mind that can think. I learned that life is a science and that it has a set of laws that govern it. I learned that by becoming skillful at using those laws, I could improve my own health, wealth and happiness.
Although I am still obese, I have none of the so-called illnesses linked with obesity. My blood pressure is 111 / 70. I do not have diabetes. I have no high blood pressure. I’m strong and flexible and at age 67, I take zero medications. These are substantial claims and I’m proud of myself for being able to make them.
I love to share with – well, okay, anyone who will listen – that there is a way that each of us can gain this understanding and learn to love herself as I have. I think in order to do this you have to ask yourself a lot of questions and find the most honest answers inside yourself so that you can make steady progress. Is what I’m now doing in my life making me feel good about myself? What else do I know to do at this time that might improve my self-esteem? Am I willing to do that? If no, why not? If this won’t work for me, what will? You can never ask yourself too many questions. Your questions and the answers you conjure up can lead you into the promised land. I wish you great success and hope to meet you online.
