  • Fencing the garden is considered to the best way to keep rabbits out of garden. Garden fencing for rabbits can be done with chicken wire. The fence should be at least two feet high and must have strong stakes at a distance of every six to eight feet. It will be better to bury the fence for at least five inches deep, so as to prevent rabbits from digging holes into the garden.
  • You may also opt for some natural ways to get rid of rabbits from your garden. Sprinkling some human hair clippings in and around the garden is said to be one of the best methods to repel rabbits. You may also use coyote urine for this purpose.
  • One of the homemade rabbit repellents is diluted chili pepper sauce that can be sprayed around the garden. You may also use blood meal from garden center and spread it around the garden.
  • While some people use cat litter for this purpose, it is said that cat litter should not be placed near edible plants, as the former contains bacteria. Even sprinkling vinegar or hot pepper flakes is said to work wonders for repelling rabbits from garden.
  • You may also plant clover or plantain weeds around your garden. These plants are among the favorite foods of rabbits and you may divert them to these plants, rather than those in the garden.
  • Another method is to plant onion in two or more rows, around your garden. This is one of the best methods to keep rabbits out of garden, as these animals are averse to onion.
  • Even strong-smelling soaps placed on different parts of the garden are said to be effective in saving your garden from rabbits.
  • While motion detector sprinklers are good for scaring away rabbits from the garden, even pet dogs can do this job effectively.

They have to be released into uninhabited areas. While such traps can be bought from stores, you may also go for making homemade rabbit traps that are also good for this purpose.
