Step#2: Now you have to position the vinyl window into the frame. For this, you need help from 2 or 3 people as these windows are quite heavy. One or two people should hold it from outside and one from inside. This way, place it at the center of the frame so that it fits into the frame nicely. To ascertain the center position, use a carpenter's square.

Step#3: If it is not comfortably fitted, then you have to place a few shims on the sides of the windows for a snug fit. Just take care it is not too tight or else, the frame may bend and the window will not be operating properly.

Step#4: Secure the window in its place by driving nails through the nailing flange starting from the top. While screwing the window, you have to be careful that all its four sides are properly leveled and adjust the screws accordingly.

Step#5: Before you fasten up the shims, check out if the window is functioning properly on not. For this, open and close it once from inside. If it is okay, then fix up the shims with the help of 2 inch nails.

Step#6: Finally, it is time to insulate the window. You can either install spray foam or fiberglass in between the gaps surrounding the window. Then seal the windows with trim boards or drywall from inside and use aluminum and caulk for sealing it from outside.

Installing vinyl windows in a new construction is much easier because they already have nailing fin with nail holes installed on them. Moreover, it also helps to seal the window from weather elements. Hence, the installation job becomes much simpler. You have to set the window upon the windowsill and force it into the opening by pushing it against the wall. Take care that the fins do not get folded. Adjust the window in such a way that it is properly leveled. If required, use shims to maintain the level. Finally, fix the window with the help of roofing nails.
