How to Install a Car Stereo
Going on a long drive will be no fun without a car stereo! After all, there is no better way to enjoy the journey than to sing along with your favorite songs, no holds barred, cause you know, no one's listening to you.

Car Stereo Installation Instructions
Installing a car stereo is not all that difficult. Here's the stuff you'll need for this little project.
- New Stereo
- Wire Strippers
- Wire Cutters
- Tape
- Screwdrivers
Step #1: Getting it Ready
First things first. You're going to need a stereo system which fits in the existing space made for it. Because if it doesn't this job is going to get a lot tougher. So it is better to get a stereo in a size which fits the space intended for it. The second thing to keep in mind is that when you buy the stereo, tell your dealer which car you have. The dealer might have a wiring harness which suits your car best.
Step #2: Remove the Old System
The second step is to remove the old system. But before you do, make sure you unplug the negative wire from the car battery. Even if the car is off, working with the wires connected to the battery can be very dangerous. Remove the old stereo and unscrew the old panel. Unplug all the car wires attached to the old panel before pulling it out. The wires are usually all attached to one plug which you can simply pull out.
Step #3: Plug The New Thing In
If you did get a wiring harness specific to your car, that is really very good news! The job becomes a lot easier this way. All you have to do is plug the wiring harness into the plug. But if you didn't then it will make your job a bit tougher.
Firstly you have to connect the positive wire from the speaker to the positive connector on the stereo. Take the negative wire from the speaker and connect it into the negative connector. Then connect the negative wire of the stereo to the bolt where the radio is connected and the positive wires to the stereo.
Step #4: Shove the Thing In
Now that all the wires are connected to all the plugs and shove the panel on. Don't screw the panel in because if there is a problem, you'll have to unscrew it all over again. Then slide the stereo in. Simple as it gets. Then connect the negative wire back to the battery and start the car. Once the car starts, put in a CD or a pen drive or whatever MP3 storage device your wonderful new stereo can play. And hope that the music starts playing! And if it does, screw in the panel properly.
Like I said before, the car audio system is truly a very important part of the car itself and something which no driver can drive without anymore. Once you've done the grunt work, hop in, rev the engine, turn up the windows and get with the singing!
