How To Increase Your Profits By Decreasing Your Work Time
More and more online marketers have started to offer coaching. Sometimes for ridiculously high prices like $30,000 per month. Others are charging way below reasonable figures, like $10 per month. I’ve had numerous people ask me what the difference is between the two and how one can charge that much. Some thing the difference is only because the one marketer has a better reputation and brand.
I concur. While not really having a brand online and not being the Go-To person yet - I do charge premium prices for my services. All the while I decreased the time I spend on my coaching business from 40 hours a week to 10 hours, and got a lot more testimonials, high-ticket customers and generally a happy state of mind. (And don’t forget the raise in profit with over 300%)
How did I do this?
When I was just starting out in the coaching business and just obtained my official coaching certificate, I ran a special offer for 6 months of coaching at $197. That’s about $32 per month, or rather $8.20 per hour. Since the end of 2007 is near, all these people who took me up on this offer will be gone. Some of them will stay with me thru my newsletters or the re-vamped coaching program. Last week I went thru the list of clients and noticed that 70% will be gone next month. That means 70% more time. Plus the remaining clients and some new one’s now happily pay me up to $397/month for coaching. That’s $99.25 an hour. Much better!
So here’s how you can earn more while doing less: Limit access to yourself.
Never sell coaching or your personal time below the price you want. Further don’t respond to emails personally anymore, have an assistant do this for you. Those that can’t afford an assistant can setup a new email address and use that one, creating the illusion of an assistant.
Last but not least, stop being to much in ‘public’ like forums, chats, Skype etc.
People will slowly start to notice that you’re not available a lot, which increases the perceived value of your time. You can now easily charge 200-300% more.
