How To Improve Your Writing Skills Throughout The Summer
You can learn how to improve your writing skills in the summer.
Special Education students especially are at risk of losing ground during summer time while they are not in school. Keeping students educated and improving is usually not the primary concerns as parents are concentrating on trying to maintaining things they already learned. We have some advises for maintaining learning and may be even improving writing skills over the summer.
Journaling:
Encourage your child to write during the summer by getting him/her a nice journal. Even though it saves money to simply get a notebook, some kids may be more motivated to write if they can choose one of the nicer journals from the store. Go shopping together and allow the kid buy the journal that he or she would most like to write in over the summer time.
Once school is out for the summer, the child should write in the journal every day. He or she may not like the idea very much, but in order to maintain their writing skills, it's a must do. It may help if you employ the following guidelines for summer journaling:
-Must write every day
-It does not matter what is written
-No one will read it unless the child asks for someone to read it
Letter Writing:
If the opportunity presents itself during the summer, writing letters is another excellent opportunity for parents to help their children improve writing skills. Whether it is a gift or thank you letter, or your child is at a camp and have the opportunity to write a letter, the act of writing will help to maintain the child's writing skills over the summer times.
