Improve Circulation in Hands
Many times, people complain about hypertension. This usually happens because of poor circulation. Of course, there are other common problems, but the main point to remember is that without good blood circulation, we are weakening ourselves instead of choosing a healthier lifestyle. Keeping that in mind, we will first look at some tips to increase blood circulation in our hands.
- While sitting at your desk, rotate your arms in circular movements. Stand up and do jumping jacks. The hand movements during this will improve the circulation.
- At least 3 times a week, do some weightlifting. The amount of weight lifted is not important. The activity itself helps your heart pump more blood.
- Swimming, kayaking, rock climbing, running, etc., are perfect exercises and activities that fight poor circulation in hands. You need a good balance between aerobic and cardiovascular exercises and eating healthy meals.
- Drink as much water as you can. Ideally, you are supposed to drink eight ounces of water. Also, cut down on alcoholic beverages, fountain drinks, and artificial sugar drinks. These drinks have the reverse effect.
- Include yoga in your fitness routine. There are many benefits of doing yoga and one of them is improving your blood circulation.
- Cut down on smoking (if you do smoke). It is found that nicotine is one of the main causes behind poor blood circulation.
With our hectic and overworked lifestyles, many of us keep sitting at our desks for hours together. With limited exercise and other physical activity, it is no surprise that the circulation of blood in our legs and feet decreases. Of course, there are many ways but the question is how willing are you comply to them. Do think about this point as we move on to look at some tips to improve blood circulation in our legs.
- First and foremost, if you have a desk job or don't move around for hours at a time, then take short breaks. Every 30 minutes, take a small walk down the corridor and back. Stand up from your seat, talk on the phone while standing, or do jumping jacks, if you like.
- While sitting, keep propping your feet from time to time. As you do so, you will increase the blood circulation in your legs and won't feel the tingling sensation in them.
- Massage your feet whenever possible. You can do this while at work or at home. Massaging the muscles will help the veins take the blood back to your heart. This increases the oxygen level in your leg tissues.
- Take a brisk 30-45 minute walk every morning or evening. You will get a good workout that way as you fight poor circulation in feet.
- As I mentioned earlier, do aerobic and cardiovascular exercises and yoga. They will help you tremendously in improving the blood circulation.
- Drink as much water as you can. Ideally, you are supposed to drink eight ounces of water. Also, cut down on alcoholic beverages, fountain drinks, and artificial sugar drinks. These drinks have the reverse effect. Also, cut down on smoking.
- If you're wondering how to improve blood circulation, every now and then, take warm baths. Soak your entire body or just feet in warm water. This will help in improving the blood flow throughout your feet, legs, and body.
