-VGA:- Video Graphics Array(VGA)is a graphics display system for PCs which uses Analog signals. If you have the HDTV then this port's availability is there on TV. But it gives analog Signal.

-S-Video port:- Before making up a connection,make sure that your PC/Laptop and TV has S-Video port. The S-Video port comes in two forms, one consisting of 4-pin and the other consisting of 7 pins. However the 4 pin connector is the most commonly among several S-Video connector types.But if your laptop or TV has 7- pin connector then it can be used to transmit Both Audio as well as Video Analog Signal. S-video Ports are very affordable. Your TV may Transmit only Video Signal if it does not have 7 pins.

S-Video Port/HDMI ports are seen in today's Desktop Computer and laptops.As far as TV is concerned there is RCA Port(RWY),Component, (BGY),S-Video port and HDMI ports and for latest TV,Plasma TV and LCD's there is S-video Port,DVI and HDMI port avalaibility

You should know your system's requirements and as per that you need to buy the cable.After connecting your computer along with TV you need to make some general settings on your computer.Once the connection is done On your Desktop Screen >Right Click>Go to Option Display settings >Select Display 2 Window >Apply >OK. You will see on the selected TV Screen.
