The term stronger body has different meaning for every individual. For some, it may be flexed biceps and six pack abs, while for some, it may be a perfectly toned and slim body. Many, who never exercise are happy with their normal and unshapely bodies. Basically, the concept of a stronger body is not limited to the achievement of some perfect shape or size. Rather, it is the holistic health of the individual that matters. A stronger body can be called the first step in the pursuit of holistic health. While people who do weight training exercises gain strength following their training programs, many who can't hit the gym believe that they can't get a healthier body, or rather a stronger body.

Getting Stronger Without Weights

It's not at all necessary that only gyms and strength training programs can make your body stronger. There are various physical exercises that can give you the desired body structure and strength in your muscles, without having to leave your home. Lifting heavy weights and sweating in the gym is perfect, however if you can't do that, then these easy exercises can help you to stay fit.

Do Squats (Knee Bending)
To strengthen the muscles of the thighs and glutes, you can practice squats in the comfort of your home. For stability and support you can use a support like a, table, chair or even the sink. Holding the supporting object and with feet at shoulder's width, an individual has to lower himself so that his butt is very close to the ground. Both feet must remain flat on the ground during the entire process. It is ideal get stronger legs, as it is a good exercise for the thighs, legs and buttocks.

Calf Raises
A very common exercise, calf raises can be practiced on any raised surface or area like stairs. If stairs are not available, you can used a hard object that will help you to raise yourself above the ground. By keeping the toes on the edge of the object (like the stairs), lower the heels of the feet and then again lift them up. Repeat this cycle at least 15 times, with a gradual increase in repetitions after a couple of days. This exercise is helpful for the calves and strengthens them.

Push Ups and Pull Ups
An all time favorite of many home exercisers, push ups and pull ups are the best way to get stronger without weights. If you want to work out for flexing your arms and are concerned to get stronger arms, then push ups are there to help you. Not only arms, but chest, abs and legs all are strengthened by it. For push ups, many of us are aware, that we need to place our palms on the ground at shoulder's width apart, stretch the feet and legs out, bend at the elbows to lower the body parallel to the ground and then lift it back. During the entire exercise, remember to keep the back straight. Ask any of your friends if they can help you, in checking out if you are doing push ups in the right manner. For pull ups, just find a place where you can hang with both your arms gripped on the object. It may be a bar of the school park, meant for pull ups or the porch. You can pull yourself till your chest is levels with the bar, then lower yourself down. Repeat the cycle as long as you are comfortable.

Lastly, the importance of a balanced diet and healthy living need not to be mentioned as they are the basics of achieving a stronger body. To enhance the effectiveness of these exercises, you have to ensure that your eating habits are such that they strengthen your body.
