Bats are nocturnal feeders and they love to relish on pests such as mosquitoes and moths. Are you aware of the fact that bats are nature's way of pest control? However, bats are not entertained in an area, which is inhabited by human population. The reason is bats are considered to be vectors of many communicable diseases such as SARS, Henipavirus, West Nile Virus and rabies. These diseases are spread from bats to human beings. How to Get Rid of Bats?

If you want to get rid of a bat that was your visitor, ask the family members to go into a room and shut the door and the window. You could then, open all the windows and the back and front doors of the house. Eventually, the bat is likely to fly out. However, in case the bat does not fly out, catch it using your fishing net. Take it outside and release the bird.

If the bat problem is a serious one, then you need to first find the areas where the bats roost. For instance, if the bats have made the attic of your home their habitat, at night when they are hunting for food, you could close the attic windows. If there are staying in a hole somewhere close to your home, you could plug the hole once you are sure the bats are out hunting.

To get rid of the bats that are roosting outside your house, you could use a can of cat or dog repellent. Never ever spray it directly on the bats. Wait till, they are out hunting, to spray the repellent on the areas where they usually roost.

Another solution to get rid of the bats is to install fiberglass insulation in the places where the bats roost. The fiberglass irritates the skin of the bats. This fiberglass insulation should keep the bats at bay.
