How to Get More Followers on Twitter

Get more followers on Twitter. Why are your followers on Twitter so important? Because the more people you have following you, the more fun Twitter is.
Some people use Twitter for advertising. Some people use Twitter for promotion. Some people use Twitter for another way to make money. Some people use Twitter for fun. Whatever your reason for using Twitter, there is one thing everyone has in common. Even though everyone has a different reason for using Twitter, there is one thing everyone can agree on. What’s that? Well, everyone wants more followers. I have yet to meet someone what doesn’t want more followers. It’s a given, Twitter is fun, but it’s more fun with more followers - I should know, I have over 25,000 followers on Twitter. What does that mean? It means I have the experience to teach you how YOU can get more followers on Twitter. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it? So, let me teach you how you can become a successful tweeter.

Reply:
On Twitter a simple @reply can go a long way. As we all know, building relationships is the first thing to marketing success. And the only way to build relationships is through chatting with people on Twitter, and that’s exactly what you will do when you reply to someone’s tweet.

People often think the only way to reply to a tweet is by saying something like this:

Cool, I like that, thanks.

No, no, no, don’t reply to someone’s tweet like that, instead say something like this:

Hey, thanks for the cool information. Do you know where I can learn more about dog grooming?

See, it’s a nice ‘thank you’ tweet, but also it gives the other person a reason to reply back to you. And that is how you begin to reply to people. How does it benefit you? You built a relationship with this person, you chatted back-and-forth with this person, and every time the other person replies back to you, your Twitter username will be "promoted" to all their followers. What could be better? Nothing!

Re-Tweet:
People love to get their tweet re-tweeted. Before I explain why, let me explain what a re-tweet is. It’s very simple. All you do is type RT @username, and copy and paste the tweet you want to re-tweet. It’s very simple, and it is a nice thing to do for a tweet you found useful, and it’s a great way to get some thank-you tweets back in return.

Socialize:
Similar to the first point, you must socialize with people to build relationships. Who wants to visit a Twitter profile page with a list of twenty links? Or what about a profile which is all about what someone is doing every minute of every day? It’s not fun and people won’t want to follow you. So, socialize with people, and build relationships. It’s far better to have your profile page full of conversation, rather than having some boring tweets.

Participate in trending topics:
Trending Topics is a new feature with Twitter. It is a list of ten topics which are the most discussed within the Twitter community. Every time you use a word in the trending topics, you get announced to the whole Twitter community. Thus, more people see your name, and if you tweeted something interesting, people will want to follow you.

Because I have such a large following on Twitter, I don’t participate in Trending topics anymore. However, I have proof it works because on the day Michael Jackson died, I was one of the very first people to tweet the news on Twitter, and I receive a mass load of new followers. People were thankful they heard that news, and they decided to follow me in return. The power of trending topics is great.

Post useful links:
People like useful stuff. Post useful links, and people will follow those links, they will re-tweet those links, and they will want to follow you. Just don’t over-do the tweeted links.
