How to Generate a Consistent Golf Swing

Many amateur golfers are not able to achieve their goals within the game because they lack consistency with regards to their golf swings. They need to concentrate on 5 factors that are crucial to achieving consistent, repeatable golf swings.
Many amateur golfers seek to lower their handicaps. Their goal is also to break a certain score within a round - 100, 85, or 80. You love the game of golf. Does this sound like you?

While many amateur golfers logically understand that they will never hit the ball like Tiger or Phil, they still have goals within the game to achieve. A good way to achieve that magical score of 80 during the round often means one thing. The amateur golfer must learn how to generate a consistent, repeatable golf swing, proper technique being fully implemented.

The key to a consistent golf swing can be broken down into five important phases. When amateur golfers are able to implement these phases into their address and golf swings, it is when they will see improvement. They will then be able to achieve lower scores during their rounds.

1. Before addressing the ball, stand behind it. Point your club shaft towards your target and eye the spot on the course where you want the ball to land. Look down the shaft to a spot 3 -5 inches in front of the ball. Then at address position, align your body towards that exact spot 3-5 inches in front of the ball. You seek to have your ball start its flight directly over that spot. This procedure will allow you to align your body and club correctly at the address position. It will also allow your ball in having a great chance of landing in that area in the fairway, (or on the green) that you are aiming towards.

2. At the address position and before you start the swing process, take a deep breath - inhale and exhale air a couple of times to relax your body. This will help to ease any tension within your body. Stress is what leads to a poor swing motion; which in turn often results in errant, wayward shots.

3. Before the takeaway process which starts the backswing, concentrate on a full shoulder turn. Think less about mechanics and more on the shoulder turn. At the top of the backswing, ideally you want your back to be pointed towards the target before you begin the downswing motion. Concentrate solely on the full shoulder turn every time to initiate a solid, repeatable golf swing motion.

4. To square the clubface at impact, think of keeping your lead wrist, (left for right-handed players, the opposite for left-handed players) flat as you strike the ball. Keeping your lead wrist flat will allow the club head to be square upon ball impact. This motion will allow for solid impact, minimizing the chances for an errant shot.

5. You want to ideally finish your swing motion in balance. To do this, hold the swing finish position counting up to three in your head. You want to eventually groove your golf swing to the point in which you automatically finish in balance, and with the same fluid motion. Remember, your aim is to groove a consistently repeatable golf swing, proper technique being implemented.

There is one other important factor which will allow you to generate a consistent golf swing. That has to do with the use of your lower body, and core throughout the swing process. Many amateur golfers do not use their core correctly during their complete golf swings. It is why they have developed flaws during the process of hitting the ball correctly.

There is a proven system that has helped tens of thousands of golfers worldwide discover the key ingredient in allowing them to use their body core correctly during the golf swing process. This solution has allowed many to succeed in achieving that magical round that they seek to attain. It has also lowered their handicaps in the process.

With regards to one’s golf swing, proper technique is instrumental in allowing an individual to reach his or her potential in the game. Now that you have read this article, I believe that you want to discover the one other piece of information that will accelerate your improvement as a golfer.
