Medical Treatments
- Placing a warm washcloth or a heating pad over the infected ear may help you get relief from the ear pain. If the condition does not improve with this treatment then some antibiotics may be prescribed by the doctor to get rid of the infection. He may also ask you to undergo some minor surgery.
- Vestibular rehabilitation therapy or VRT is considered to be very effective for vertigo sufferers. The therapy comprises a series of exercises for the head and body which help the person to overcome the feeling of vertigo.
- Antibiotics are very helpful in getting rid of the problems caused due to bacteria. Acetaminophen is one of the most common pain reliever.
- Keep an eye on your blood pressure. Eat food which is low in sodium and rich in vitamins and minerals, like fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Avoid consumption of salt, caffeine, alcohol and nicotine
- Exercises, yoga and meditation are also considered to be very effective in case of inner ear disorders. Acupuncture treatments can also give you relief from such conditions.
- Some herbs like ginkgo biloba, lemon bioflavonoids are also used to cure inner ear infections.
