In you're interested in home decor, then you would have heard about the concept of Feng Shui. But what is Feng Shui and how is it used to enhance your home? Well, it may seem an exotic concept to understand concept, but Feng Shui is all about energy.

In today's age, we're beginning to understand more and more about energy and how it affects our lives. We are all energetic beings, and Feng Shui is all about changing our environment to allow good energy to affect us and our lives. This ancient Chinese practice was initially only known by the wealthy and powerful emperors of China. But after thousands fo years, this knowledge have spread to the general population in Asia and now is embraced by the West as well.

So how do you use Feng Shui to create a harmonious home environment? Here are 4 ways that you can use Feng Shui to enhance your home and your family:

1. Use your personal success directions

Your personal best directions in Feng Shui are dependent on your Gua number. For every person, there are 4 favorable directions. For example, if your personal number is 8, then your direction for success is SW (south west). If possible, face this direction when working in your home office, or sleep with your head pointing towards this direction in your bedroom. If not possible, face one of your other 3 best directions.

2. Use your personal fortune color and element

Depending on your Gua or energy number as well as the year you're born, there are certain elements that are more auspicious for you. For example, if you are a metal element, then white, silver, and golds in your home will enhance you. On the other hand, it you're a water element, then blues and blacks will suit you better. And because water is enhanced by metal, then metal colors can offer some support as well.

3. The art and images you display

The images that you portray on your walls also have an impact on the energy of your room or home. If you have sad, depressing images, depending on which sector of the home it's in, can decrease or depress the energy or chi that is flowing in the home. Instead put images up that are joyful and uplifting and create a good feeling inside you. This is especially important in the rooms you spend the most time, such as home office or bedrooms.

4. Clean and get rid of clutter your home

Clutter tends to stagnant 'chi' or energy in your home. So clean and declutter your entire home. In your bedroom, ensure that you tidy your pillows and bedspread after you get up. In your home office, clean up your desk at the end of each day to allow new energy to flow when you start using the desk again the next morning. Store items that you don't need away in a cupboard or storage area of your home, and keep all areas appearing clean and clutter free to allow energy to flow well.

So there you have it. Feng Shui can be used to enhance you and your home. You can use your personal best directions, your fortune elements and colors as well as reducing clutter and using uplifting art work, to improve the flow of energy in your home. So go ahead and improve the flow of chi and abundance into your home.
