Search engine optimization, or SEO, is one of the fastest growing ways to advertise on the Internet nowadays. Most online businesses owners uses search engine optimization to promote their websites. Most people, however, aren't familiar with this form of marketing.

To them, it's a dark world, filled with black holes. That's not the case at all. While learning SEO does take time and patience to master, the good outweighs the not so good. Now, we will go on to how to do that.

To do this, one must use keywords that are relevant to the niche. For example, if one is selling camcorders on their website, keywords such as "digital camcorder" or DVD camcorders", they would be used in every page of the site.

But beware of keyword stuffing and using irrelevant phrases, as this weakens the search engine optimization potential. The keyword density to shoot for it between 1% to 3%. This means that a 300-word piece should have they keywords mentioned at least three times, and at most nine times.

Now, page and content relevancy are also important. Every web page must have content related to the niche, or it will fail to be placed in the search engines. Backlinks are ok, as long as they're too realted. Links that don't fit into this fold is considered to be spam and will probably have your site removed.

Also, focus on each page's title and tags. Titles ought to be short and punchy. Tags (relevant keywords) ought to relate to the content also. One shouldn't forget this when doing search engine optimization for their site.

Well, that covers the basics of how to do search engine optimization.
