How to Do Pull Ups

How to do Pull Ups

For Beginners
Well now a person who has never done a pull up before will need some guidance, so here goes:
  • Make sure the bar is at a height so that you can jump and grasp hold of it, otherwise doing the exercise will be difficult.
  • Set yourself under the bar which you are going to use to do the pull ups. If you are working out in the gym, then the gym may have the assisted machines, which will be helpful when you do the pull ups.
  • Grasp hold of the bar and make sure your feet are off the floor. Instead of letting your legs hang down, you can choose to cross your legs at the knees.
  • Slowly pull yourself up, till your chin is above your hands on the bar.
  • Lower yourself down slowly, till you come to the full stretch and repeat the exercise.
  • When you start doing the exercise, start off with 4 to 5 repetitions and then gradually increase the number of repetitions.
At Home without a Bar
Not all of us go to the gym and if you are of the opinion that pull ups can only be done in the gym, then you are sadly mistaken. You can do pull ups at home as well as do them without the bar. Now let's see the steps to do pull ups at home and without a bar. If you want to do the pull ups at home without the bar, then you can make use of your window loft. The procedure to do the pull ups remains the same, as mentioned above. You can also choose to get a pull up bar installed in your home to do the pull ups.

If you want to work your triceps instead of your biceps, you will have to learn how to do push ups. There are a lot of people, who wonder, how to do pull ups easily. It is important to understand, that to do the pull ups, strength is important. This means, that even an overweight person will be able to do the pull ups with ease, if he has the required strength. I have come across people, who are thin yet are not able to do the pull ups, whereas obese and overweight people can. You will have to train your mind accordingly, so that you can do the pull ups.
