How to Cut Hair with Clippers
Do you want to know how to cut hair with clippers? If yes, read on for a complete step wise guide on the same.

Procedure to Cut Men's Hair with Clippers
In order to cut your own hair with clippers, you will have to, first of all, invest in a good quality clipper. Purchase the ones which come complete with small comb attachments and scissors. Once you have the equipment ready, you are ready to start the hair cutting procedure.
Step 1
Wash your hair and later condition it, so that the hair can be cut smoothly. If you go to any salon, you will see the hair dressers insisting on washing your hair prior to conditioning. So you follow the same thing at home. After washing the hair, let it dry naturally, before proceeding on to the next step.
Step 2
Take a towel and put it around your shoulders to avoid any mess. Now, take the clipper, select an appropriate attachment and connect it to the clipper. To cut a guy's hair with clippers, an attachment which is half an inch in size will do. Such an attachment is meant to cut hair of very small length.
Step 3
You should be very clear about the starting point that you should take to cut your hair. Ideally, you should start cutting the hair from the base of the head, towards the top of the head. Simple logic behind this is that in order to cut the hair, the clipper should be placed and moved in the opposite direction of the hair growth. To do that, tilt your head forward and place the clippers at the back of your head, on your neck, at the point where the hair growth starts. Turn the hair clipper on and with a firm pressure, start moving it in the direction as mentioned above, i.e towards the top. In order to make sure that all hair in the area has been cut properly, move the clipper backwards on the same path on your head, this time from the top of your head, towards the base of the neck. This will help in cutting the hair which you might have missed initially.
Step 4
Now move away from the middle portion, and move the clipper the same way, i.e in the opposite direction of the hair growth, from the base of the neck towards the side of the head, even cutting the hair from behind the ears.
Step 5
Once you are finished with the back and bottom part of your head, the next step is to place the clippers at the hairline on the forehead and move it towards the top of the head. Continue clipping till all the hair become of the desired length.
Step 6
Now take a pair of small scissors, and trim your hairline in all directions, i.e forehead, neck and sides of the ears, so that the haircut looks even and symmetrical.
While using clippers, make sure that the entire hair on your head has been cut, comb your hair from time to time in between, or run your fingers in your hair again and again so that you can easily identify the hair which is left uncut. Hair clippers are not only used for getting the simple hairstyles as mentioned above, but can also be used to fade hair, which refers to a technique in which the length of the hair is gradually increased or decreased. If you want to know how to fade hair with clippers, then the procedure for it is the same, you only have to change the different guard attachments that come with the clippers. Though personally I would recommend that to get such specialized hairstyles, you go to a professional hair dresser, and use clippers only for the simple haircuts.
