How to Copy Xbox 360 Games to a DVD

Thinking of Xbox 360, I can't help feeling an adrenaline rush as images of many exciting games that I have played on it, come to mind. This seventh generation gaming console is nothing short of phenomenal, when it comes to gaming action that it delivers. I tend to get hooked for hours on this gaming console. The best part is the sheer variety of games that are offered on XBOX 360 platform. There are more than 478 original games to choose from! Halo 3 is currently the most popular game on this platform and one of my personal favorites too. I often copy Xbox 360 games to a DVD, to back up and protect my original disks. That way, even if my back up disks get damaged, my original disks remain intact.

How to Copy Xbox 360 Games to DVD For Free?

Xbox 360 game DVDs cannot be copied like music or movie files to a DVD. Since, the installed data on such DVDs is a software program, you need a special type of software to copy them. The data needs to be converted into an ISO image file before it can be burnt on a DVD. ISO is a special type of archive file format, that is used to save software program files and burn them to a DVD. The things you will need are an Internet connection, DVD+DL discs to burn and an optical disc writer that can burn data on those kind of discs. Here are step-by-step instructions.

Get an ISO DVD Burning Program
First thing that you need to know is how to copy Xbox 360 games to your computer hard drive. You'll have to get a software that can create an ISO archive file for you on the hard drive and burn it to a DVD. Search online for MagicISO or CloneCD, download any one of them and get it installed.

Make an ISO File
Insert the XBOX 360 game DVD into the optical drive. Using the ISO DVD burner program, extract the data and create an ISO format file of the same. The size of the file will depend on the size of contents on the disk. Using either MagicISO or CloneCD, you can easily do the job.

Copy ISO File to DVD
Once the ISO file has been created, all that remains is burning the file to a DVD+DL blank disk. You can use any other DVD burning software like Nero for the purpose or use the above program itself. You will need one DVD for each game. Obviously, you'll have to repeat the procedure for other games too. The complete procedure will only take about half an hour or so, assuming that you have good computing resources at your disposal.

Back up all your precious game DVDs using this procedure and enjoy uninterrupted gaming.
