How to Cook Bacon

If you know the steps to cook bacon, your life will become much easier, as you will be able to whip up a meal, breakfast to be more particular, easier and faster.
Bacon is one of the most loved breakfast food all over the world, as it is certainly easy to make and tastes great too. Once you learn the method to cook bacon the easy way, you will understand, that it is easy and mess proof to make. The bacon can be cooked on the stove, in the oven or in the microwave.

How to Cook Bacon ...

... in a Pan

Cooking the bacon on the stove is the oldest method of cooking bacon. Although this is the messiest way of cooking bacon, yet it is the most preferred way to cook bacon. Let's now see the steps to cook bacon on the stove.
  • Add not more than 3 to 4 slices of bacon to a large frying pan and turn the heat to medium low.
  • When the bacon starts cooking, make sure you keep changing the sides of the bacon, so that the bacon cooks evenly on both the sides.
  • In case too much of fat collects in the pan, drain the excess fat out.
  • When the color of the bacon changes to deep brown understand that the bacon is cooked to perfection.
  • If you notice any black color on the sides of the bacon, it is a clear sign, that your bacon is burning. Change the sides and check whether the bacon is done on both the sides.
... in the Oven

Cooking bacon in the oven, is the least messy way which you can choose to cook your bacon. When the bacon is cooked in the microwave it curls up, while in the pan it tends to get greasy.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and place the bacon on the baking sheet.
  • Make sure you do not grease the bacon, place each of the bacon pieces separately so that they are cooked evenly.
  • Now let the bacon bake for about 15 minutes. The time required to bake the bacon, will depend on the thickness of the slice.
  • If you want to make the bacon extra crispy, you will have to bake it in the oven a little longer.
  • Once the bacon is baked, place it on the paper towel, so that you remove excess grease from the bacon thus, enabling you to enjoy it even more.
... Wrapped Scallops

Bacon wrapped scallops are my favorite as it combines two great foods. At the same time, preparing it is not difficult and it makes for a wonderful dish to be served to the guests as well.
  • Place the oven rack in the highest setting in the oven.
  • Turn the broiler on so that the oven heats till you prepare the scallops.
  • Cut strips out of the bacon, so that they will easily wrap around the scallops.
  • Wrap a bacon strip around the scallops and secure it by sticking a toothpick through the bacon and the scallops.
  • Now place the bacon wrapped scallops on the baking dish and place them under the broiler for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the bacon wrapped scallops from the oven, change sides and place them in the oven again.
  • This time it will not take more than 2 minutes for them to cook. Your bacon wrapped scallops are then ready to be savored.

Cooking bacon in the toaster oven will take longer than regular ovens, but it can be done. However, it is not recommended, if you have a large amount of bacon to be cooked.
