- Perhaps, the most common application, hydrogen peroxide is popular for, is associated with laundry. All you have to do is pour a cup of the acid into the washer load. You won't come across any method to whiten your clothes that is better than this.
- Most people wonder how to clean ear with hydrogen peroxide. Well, it is easy. Simply pour the acid in a small container with a dropper. Tilt your head to the side so that it is parallel with the ground. Now, squirt three or four drops into the ear. You would feel a kind of jolt or discomfort in your eardrum. Be in the same position for about 10-15 minutes, and let the acid do its work in cleaning the earwax. Thereafter, tilt your head to the other side and ensure that you have a towel or something to catch the liquid. Repeat the same with the other ear.
- What about brushing your teeth using hydrogen peroxide? This is even easier. For this, you would require a teaspoon of 3% strength of the acid. Simply rinse the bristles of the toothbrush with it, and brush your teeth, concentrating more on the areas that contain plaque or tartar. - The use of hydrogen peroxide does not stop here. It is also known to be a useful agent in gardening. Make a mix of the acid (1 oz.) and water (1 cup) and fill it in a spray bottle. Now simply spray it on your houseplants. It won't take long for you to notice your houseplants to have become greener and lusher.
- If you are prone to fingernail or toenail fungus, then hydrogen peroxide comes to you as a cosmetic gift. Just treat your nails with a mix of water and the acid (50/50), by soaking them in it for 10 minutes daily. Stick to 3% strength.
- Another tip is not about cleaning, but about purifying water using hydrogen peroxide. As it is an oxidizing agent, it disinfects the water off its contaminants.
- The acid also gives you the freedom of making a sanitizer at home. Mix the acid with water (50/50) and store it in a spray bottle. Whenever required, just spray the solution onto the kitchen counter tops, taps, sinks, bathroom tiles, shower, etc.
- One smart way to clean the interior of a humidifier or steamers is to mix a pint of the acid (3% strength) and a gallon of water. Pour the solution into these appliances and switch on the power.
