How to Clean Mold and Mildew

Are you tired of the extensive amounts of mold and mildew that is present in your home and want to get rid of the mess. Well, here are some effective guidelines that will help you clean the mold and mildew in your house.
Mold and mildew usually appear in houses, on the surfaces that are constantly exposed to a mild amount of moisture. The mold and mildew are two types of very small minuscule fungi. Both of these plants tend to appear especially in humid climates and are seen especially during the rainy seasons. Most of the time, mold and mildew appear in places such as wooden surfaces, organic fabrics and in some cases even on the paint on the walls.

Experts and home appliance manufacturers have come up with some very effective and foolproof solutions, that help in cleaning mold and mildew. However, it is dangerous to inhale the droplets of many of the solutions that are used to clean mold and mildew. There are several ways in which one can clean mold and mildew. The methods of mildew and mold removal can be classified under two heads - artificial methods and natural methods. The artificial methods are very simple to put into action, as one has to just spray the solution on the mold and mildew and then clean up the fungal growth after a few minutes, with the help of a scraper or a cloth. The artificial methods of cleaning mold and mildew are however applicable and can be put into use only when the quantity of the mold and mildew is small. For the removal of a very dense growth of mold and mildew, one has to use conventional methods for a mass scale clean up.

For the following methods that I am about to elaborate, you need a bucket, a scraper brush and a piece of cloth. Almost all the methods are pretty simple and straight forward, which you can implement on your own. The material required is also very common and can be easily found in the house.

Method #1
The first method is a very simple one and you require minimal resources. All you have to do is find an empty or reusable spray bottle and fill it with clear white vinegar. Then, spray the vinegar on the surfaces that have been encroached upon by the mold and mildew. You can easily scrub off the growth with the help of a small scrubber or a simple cloth.

Method #2
The second method requires the use of hydrogen peroxide, which is a very good anti mold and mildew agent. All you have to do is mix the chemical in a bucket of water and wipe it over the affected surface, with the help of a cloth. Bear in mind that you keep the proportion to 1:3 of the hydrogen peroxide and the amount of water that you use.

Method #3
Tea tree oil is another very good substance that you can used to clean the mold and mildew. Mix about a spoon of tea tree oil in a cup of water, to clean the surface that has mold and mildew growth.

You can also use some other natural substances such as pine oil and borax to clean the mold and mildew. It is advisable that you do not overuse the cleansing agent, while cleaning the surfaces. Another word of caution, wear gloves while cleaning the mold and mildew, as your skin might be allergic to some of the substances present in them.
