How many of us own a plasma home theater? I bet there are many! I mean, who would not want to enjoy a nice movie at home with the same kind of experience which we get in the movie theaters? Buying the plasma television set for our entertainment, of course, has been a trend these days! I am sure you'll agree. However, owning the best plasma TV is not enough, since it requires certain care tips considering the price you have shelled out for it. And taking care includes using and cleaning it properly. Because the use is quite frequent, it is mandatory to clean the plasma TV screen correctly and yes, this is what we are going to talk about in the paragraphs coming up. What to use to clean a plasma screen? Well, let us elaborate.

As I already mentioned, the use of a plasma TV in our house is very frequent and hence timely cleaning, say twice a week or so is advisable. When it comes to cleaning the TV, the most important thing you need to keep in mind is the screen. Cleaning a plasma screen should in no way cause any scratches or spots on the screen and ideally, the process should be gentle.

Step #1
First of all, you need to turn off the power. This is the most important step for the cleaning to be effective. We all know that there is a continuous dissipation of heat through the TV while it is in use and hence application of the cleaning product, here, isn't effective for a longer span of time. Rather it gets evaporated which you would not want of course! So, switch off the TV before starting the process.

Step #2
Allow the TV to cool for sufficient amount of time after which you can start off with the main steps. Cooling the TV ensures efficient cleaning.

Step #3
Now take a soft cloth which has not been used anywhere else. Do not use tissue papers or rough materials since the plasma screen is very sensitive and is most likely to get scratches. With the help of this cloth, wipe the entire unit with care. This is mainly to wipe off the dirt particles which gather on the screen and the entire unit, whether it is in daily use or not. So, first you need to clean off the dirt with a dry cloth. Then, what about the fingerprints and smudge marks? See the step #4.

Step #4
While purchasing the plasma screen TV, you would have gotten the plasma screen cleaning kit as well. Check what all is there inside it. Consider yourself lucky because they provide a cleaning solution mainly a non-ammonia or a alcohol-based solution which is the best thing to clean a plasma screen. Alternatively, you can use distilled water as well. Take a different soft cloth, damp it with little amounts of the solution and start wiping the screen with it. See to it that you ain't harsh and the cloth is not flooded with the solution. Wipe until the screen appears clean and free of any marks.

Step #5
Well, cleaning the vents is another issue which comes into picture along with cleaning the screen. So, for this, you would have to use a vacuum cleaner. What you need to do is set it on the lowest power and hold the suction pipe near each vent. This ensures cleaner vents which easily allow heat to pass off the unit.

I guess, now you shouldn't be asking this question. If you follow what all is written in this article, you are sure to succeed in the process. Make sure you take good care of the whole unit for it to be working properly in the long run.
