Buying a car is not as easy as buying an everyday product. It is a very important decision that has to be taken by keeping several things in mind. For some people, it might be a second experience, but for some, it might be a new one. How to buy a car is not simply about test driving a car and exploring the feature which you want; it also depends on various factors such as the usability, and most importantly, your budget. You have to first consider your budget when you decide on buying a new car. In many cases, prospective buyers determine a fixed budget, and after looking at the jazzy look of the car or the leather upholstery, they try to increase their budget. Many a times, the car you want might not be the perfect one for you.

If you are paying the full amount in cash, you need to ensure how much you would require to spend in total. You should always remember that in a majority of places, you will be asked to pay several taxes which weren't even known to you, along with the original price of the car. All these extra disbursements total into the car's on-road price.

If you are deciding that you would finance the car purchase, as done by a majority of the people, it's recommended to know in advance how much loan you would require and actually receive. For financing, you will have to pay sum amount of the car's price as down payment, after which the car dealer will determine your credit status and let you know about the amount of loan you can avail. You may also avail finance from commercial banks or financial houses. The car can only be bought after you have paid the down payment and your loan request is approved. Moreover, you also need to ensure that the EMIs would not be hard on your pocket and affect your daily living.

After you have firmly decided on the budget and all about the finances, the next step is to check out the cars. But ensure that you check out cars that fit in your price limits. This is to avoid the feel of you not being able to purchase a car, which you must have always desired to own. For this purpose, you may even ask the salesman to display cars which are in your budget. In this way, you can choose the best one for you without considering budget constraints.

Moreover, you also need to know all the features provided in the car, like air conditioning, power seats, leather upholstery, power windows, etc. An upgrade in the features of the car may slightly increase your budget. Compare some cars from the same class, to know the best suited one for you. If one needs to be satisfied with his car's possession, its features should be given more importance than looks. Lastly, the decision to buy a car totally depends upon the buyer who would consider several brands, cars, mileage and resale value, looks, price, safety, etc. One also needs to get information about the car's insurance and servicing.

There are many more tips which need to be followed before buying a new car. It's a good idea to take assistance from a person who knows enough about cars, before buying a car; and after purchasing, simply enjoy your drive.
