How to Build a Remote Control Car
Many people wonder how to build a remote control car, and consider it as a Herculean task. But in reality, it's just a simple do-it-yourself thing...

If one has a hobby of making radio-controlled devices, he won't have to think much to build a remote control car. RC cars run in the same way as real cars, some may even go up to 50 mph. Some people have a traditional way of building them. Instead of buying the whole RC car kit, they just purchase the radio equipment and the motor, construct the cars body by wood or any other material, install the motor in the body, and play on.
Remote Control Car Parts and Kits
There are many Almost Ready to Run (ARR) RC car kits available in the market which can be used for building RC cars. However, you need to ensure that you don't purchase one that is very cheap in terms of price and not of a good quality. But you also need to make sure that you are not spending a considerably huge amount on buying RC car parts, especially if you're building an RC car for the first time. If you are well aware of the procedure and have built many cars before, you may consider buying expensive parts and kits. Before buying any kit, you will have to first decide on what type of car you want to build. Whether you want to construct an on-road model which can run on the road, or an off-road one which you can play around with, in your backyard. You may even think of constructing a high-powered gas car, but for beginners, a simple easy-to-use electric car would be the right option.
Steps for Building a Remote Control Car
ARR car kits come with all the equipment that is needed to build an RC car. You just have to assemble the parts in a proper manner. For building a typical RC car and painting it, you would require approximately an hour's time. Take all the equipment out from the kit and refer to the manual. The manual would clearly show how the parts are to be fixed together.
The kit would typically contain a radio-controller, electric motor, chassis, battery, and other essentials. Fix all the needed parts on the chassis and use a screwdriver to tighten them firmly. If the car is going to be a high-powered one, use clinches to hold the parts in place. Set up the shock absorbers, wheels, and axle.
Ensure that you adjust the shocks in such a way that all four are equal. Many a time, the axle is damaged while installing the wheels. Therefore, you need to take proper care while doing so. Ensure that the motor is fixed properly, and all the connections are fine. Install a charged battery, and then put the body parts together. After all the fixing, use the remote control and check if the car runs smoothly.
In the future, some highly advanced RC cars may run with the aid of an application similar to the 'remote control software'. I'm sure by now you must have got an idea on how to make a remote control car! So go ahead, build it and enjoy.
