To reduce fever naturally, you can use cotton washcloth strips soaked in salt water. Take some water in a bowl. Let the water be at room temperature. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to it. Soak washcloth strip in the bowl, wring it and place it on the forehead of the child or the person who has fever. Remove the strip after 5 minutes and again soak it in water and place it on the forehead. Keep doing this until the fever is lowered significantly.

Hence, you should consult your physician as early as possible and find out the cause of the fever in the first place. Acetaminophen or an ibuprofen are usually prescribed to bring down the high fever. Antibiotics help reduce fever and other symptoms of infection. Witnessing a child crying due to fever and discomfort can be heartbreaking for parents. But children should not be given the medicines that are meant for adults.
